The Annual Trophy Cup started in 1994 at San Jose Speedway where Ronnie Day won the first fully inverted main event for sprint cars. Trophy Dave has carried this event for 27 editions now, each bigger than the last. He has plenty of faithful followers who have been there forever for him and this amazing race. The Make a Wish Foundation has now received over $2,000,000 in donations due to Trophy Dave's hard work and desire to make it happen. It is one of the very best races in the country and paid a $200,000 purse this year with $26,000 going to Rico Abreu who was the first to win all three nights in the history of The Trophy Cup and added $8,000 for those two prelim nights. Next years race will pay the winner $27,000, so make plans.
Brent Kaeding has won the event 4 times, his son Tim 3 times and other son Bud once. In addition Jac Haudenschild has 3 wins and Jason Meyers two.
