Steve and Frank Burgun mix it up at Ascot in a 1972 CRA race

Steve was a sprint car driver in the 70's and won 3 CRA races along the way. The tracks he won at are Santa Maria on May, 26, 1975, Speedway 117 on May 13, 1978 and Ascot on July 29, 1978. He worked with his dad in the So Cal Perormanxce business for many years. He took over the business after Glenn died and continued the track visits with the trailer until he passed away. He was a gruff guy at times, but when you got to know him, he would smile. He was very involved when the annual Calistoga Labor Day weekend event was planned. He raised a lot of tow money and extra prize money for the CRA drivers going North to race. That event still goes on and has become a special weekend for racers and fans alike. Steve was a tough person and fought for what he believed in. He will be missed by his friends and family. R.I.P. Steve.
