The day begins with my ride into the pits. This is after I put down the Wags tiedown to save seats for those who did not come later. Now after spending a little quiet time with the Kittle lunch bunch in their coooool toter, outside I go as Steve is doing some adjusting on the little blue bugger.

Shane Golobic arrives and they begin the unloading process.

The crew starts to get it ready. Shane won his heat after qualifying 13th and was 9th in the main event.

Alan Ballard's ride is calm as Ray Stansberry has done the unloading. Allan was 2nd quick, ran 5th in his heat and didn't start the main that I could see, and that after lining up on the grid introductions.

Eric Severson drives the Lee Leonard # 48 in 410's. This week he had to borrow a motor from David Miller to make the show and did real well until he got on his head after leading the Main Event for 10 laps.

Eric's office.

Bill Rose, Mark Spivey and David Miller hang out with one more I can't name, but a likely group.

You are looking at an old dinosaur, the open trailer of Joe Gunderson's race team. Not many of these left as our racers who can't afford to come to the track have a lot of enclosed ones parked right now.

The Kittle pit area is quiet as Steve is on the top of the hauler and the car is ready for action.

Mark and Steve Alexander begin their unloading process of their silver bullet race car that later would win.

Notice something funny? David Miller's team and the Alexander's have something in common. They have identical generators that have wheels way too small to handle the simple process of rolling the heavy device in the dirt. You have to manhandle them.

Mark is now ready to move his generator and will need Steve's help. One might wonder why they don't put larger diameter wheels so the thing will roll easy for one person?

Dave Miller walks away from his car. He is so worried he will be caught by the camera, he tries to hide in plain sight.

Steve and Mark talk with Eric's dad Rick.

Karen Bolinas is hiding in the Priestley trailer with Randy early on.

The new Viper decal is on the # 38 Glenn Crossno owned car driven by David Cardey. Glenn says his car wasn't the new Viper model until now, thus the addition. Note the # 83 that David drove earlier in the year is setting there. It never turned a wheel?

Here is a closer look at the new car. They all look the same to me?

Here is the # 83 unloaded as Jim Cardey did it unassisted in the heat of the afternoon before anyone showed up.

Now we see Bruce Bromme Jr and his driver Mike SPencer talking with pit announcer Ronnie. What is that on the pit cart?

It is Mike Spencer Sr working on getting something unhooked from the top of the pit cart.

Former Perris trophy queen Carley came for a visit. She moved to Hawaii some time ago and loves it!

Danny Sheridan and Tony Jones make some interesting comments as they go thru Mrs Wags new 2009 drivers calender with Tanner and Carley looking on. I should have had a tape going!

Mike Spencer joins the foursome for a great photo op.

Ludwig Solvang IV walks thru the pits heading for the pit meeting.

Announcer Scott Deloisio talks with infield announcer Ronnie.

Blake Miller was just settling into his cockpit when I said hi! He gave me another great photo op!

Toby Sampson came to Perris running with the modifieds. He said he is really busy and would like a vacation. He spends time with his kids after working long hours. It's not easy being a dad and run a business and work a full time job.

The Williams cars are blanketed together early on.

Rip Williams gets ready to push off and get muddy. Only 19 cars packing and it took a little longer.

Danny SHeridan got on the unusually muddy track to "iron it in".

Tony Jones and Jimmy Crawford doing the ironing together.

Keith Williamson getting bumped off for mud packing.

Krazy Kinney got in a mud trough that was still knee deep after the feature ended. He couldn't get his car to go straight thru it, but everyone that hit that lane did the same thing.

This was the best view of Josh Ford as not long after this they loaded up and went home after encountering a problem that couldn't be fixed at the track.

Bill Rose looked pretty comfy in J Hicks ride this week as he came in from Indiana for some fun. He ran 8th for his first time in the car. He's on his way home, but will be back to run Calistoga next week in I don't know what car.

The little yellow beauty gets dirty in the mud with Garrett Hansen driving in the mess around the track.

Eric Severson's getting his white car really dirty here.

Keith Williamson gets around the mud trap.

Joe Gunderson gets 12th this week after playing in the mud here.

Alan Ballard slopping around.

Cody Williams gets going.

Shane Golobic gets into the mess.

Chet Gardner talks with Tyler Brown as they try to find their fuel flow problem.

Is Chet going head to head with the USAC official? No, he's smiling.

Tyler Brown hasn't got his car dirty yet, but it's coming.

Ray continues to work the track. His time is split on all the track equipment, and that includes the water truck. He spritzes the dusty pathways in the pits and the parking lot regularly. I wonder if he was the one who thought my Vette was a dusty path as it was spritzed pretty good on the hood in the afternoon, hmmmm, imagine that, it must have been an accident.

Toby sampson near his modified in his pit.

Tony Jones gets his spurs on.

Krazy Kinney gets it sideways.

Ripper on the gas.

Cody does the same.

David Cardey gives his Viper the reigns.

Tyler Brown qualifies.

David Cardey is American!

Cody and Ripper on separate qualifying passes. Looks the same.

Tony Jones gets third quick!

Mike Spencer does 4th quick.

Alan Ballard was 2nd quick.

Bill Rose goes 10th quick.

A little fuzzy, but the fast time by Danny Sheridan was hot, and so is the left front up high enough?

Garrett Hansen carved out 6th quick.

Jack and Mary Ann Gardner seen in the grandstands this week.

Danny Sheridan gets ready for the ride of his life with David Cardey in one of those off road trucks.

Are you sure you want to do this?

Ooooooh shucks, here we go.

Danny doesn't know what he got himself into here, but off they go.

Paul and Brian are thinking "Ooooooh Shucks".

Kenzo Okubo gets out to the races for a change.

Hailey sure gets a lot of attention from the ladies as Karen tries to keep her in check. Julies Mom Joyce, in the cap, is the official dog walker, and Garrett's mom Kathy taks it all in.

Kenny is working over a tire for Tony Jones winning effort.

Rumor has it Mark Spivey can't do anything without that stick in his mouth.

See, Bill Rose looks like he wonders what's next as the stick is still going.

Mark Priestley's little yellow beauty looks ready.

The # 48 gets ready to start on the front row in the main. He led 10 laps before something happened.

The little red sucker is ready.

Jimbo puts the finishing touches on the # 18 car.

The Kittle Brothers, Brian and Gary, talk with Alan Ballard prior to the line-up for the main.

Danny's got a new helmet that he won here when he stormed to a win here last month.

Car owner Brian Kittle shares a smile with Danny.

Who knows whats going on with Danny and Tony?

Keith Williamson about ready to go out front.

Activity surrounds the David Cardey ride.

Shane Golobic climbs in his racer.

Jimmy Crawford's battered racer gets ready to limp off. He started at the back and pulled in immediately to get starting money.

The Williamson brothers, Keith and Gary, are just happy to be running the main event.

Tony Everhart ready to climb in and go racing.

Ludwig is ready.

Darth Cardey getting ready to push off.

Danny Sheridan getting his "device" strapped on.

The girls in the pits are always involved in the action.

Focus!

I wasn't going to tell you this but, infield announcer Chris Holt was wrenching on the Tony Jones winning car tonight. What a job that man does.

Mike Spencer sewttles into the cockpit of the little red sucker as Bruce Bromme Jr looks on.

The very likable Mike English, former sprint car driver and motocross crazy, is still a fixture at the races. He recently had another surgeury on his leg and reports are it is improving. It has been a long two year ordeal since he crashed a dirt bike hard and he still smiles thru it all. Lets hope this heals soon so he can get back to his real life.

Garrett Hansen gets ready to climb in.

Clear the area, it's time to race!!!

Look, there are blonds in the pits, too!

I don't know what Eric Kaufman is smiling about, but the guy next to him looks worried.

The 4 wide scene forms up.

The PAS track officials have a big job, but they work hard every race.

The start takes on a fuzzy look as they blast off with Eric Severson taking the lead.

The leader on the gas from my fourth turn perch on the K-rail.

Ripper trying to take the lead from Bill Rose.

Danny stalking Tyler Brown.

When the leader crashes a red allowed some adjustments. Here Cody williams relaxes.

Here's Tyler Brown with his left side muffler still attached. Later he would lose both, one at a time, and end his night after the second one fell off.

The eventual winner gets attention by his crew.

David Cardey's Viper is ready again.

Garrett Hansen talks with his crew.

Bill Rose wants back out there. He loves to race but sez he makes more money driving the wing cars back there, but has more fun topless.

When the horn sounds, you have two minutes to get away from your car, or he goes to the back.

The lap 11 restart with Rose on point. He didn't last the lap as Ripper flew by for the lead.

Into the lead goes Ripper.

Neat So Cal shirt.

Rip challenged by Garrett as the Cowboy lurks behind them.

Tony climbs out of the car after scurrying a few photogs on his spinning stop.

Those two are at it again as the jubilation of Tony's win is shared by Danny Sheridan.

There is nothing like winning!

Same goes for success as Danny's crew chief Randy Shiosaki shares his joy of a third place finish.

Car owner Brian Kittle and wife Kris enjoy the night.

This is sort of a blond thing with Danny's sweatie Kacie, his mom Lori and brunette in-law Maria.

Another blond.

One blond on a hill.

And a blond in pink is always good.

Is that seat taken? Ok, I am done.
